DUAL SEAT GENERAL AVIATION COCKPIT
The workhorse of our fleet is the popular CS-1 Stallion. Our unique cost-effective design provides a totally immersive cockpit enclosure for one or two pilots. The CS-1 was specifically designed to replicate the most common general aviation aircraft such as a Cessna 172/182, 210, 310 and its measurements are within 99% accuracy of these aircraft. While being mainly based on Cessna aircraft, the CS-1 Stallion can easily be used for any other similar sized general aviation aircraft such as a Piper Warrior, Cherokee, Seminole, Seneca, Beech Baron, Beech King Air, or many more. Therefore the CS-1 is equally great for any light twin engine aircraft as well many mid-sized twin engine aircraft, or even many light business jets common to charter aviation.
All of the various aircraft mentioned can be flown “virtually” if using our flexible ideology of having two large LCDs in the cockpit for using virtual 2D panel flight instrumentation coupled with a large ultra-wide display for visuals or even three wide or ultra-wide displays. The CS-1 Stallion instrument panel width is primarily designed to fit two 22″ (16:9 or 16:10) displays side by side, or can use a single 24” or even 27” display supplemented with a tactile radio stack set on the right.
The main panel area is also large enough to fit a real Cessna 172/182/210/310 panel or you can install any other custom style of instrument panel as desired. If using LCD and touchscreens as we commonly do, you can quickly use many 2D virtual panels sets from AirManager, or can inquire about some of our older 2D panel designs made specifically for Prepar3D v5 or v6. Lastly, we are happy to make equipment recommendations and can help tailor the cockpit to your needs.
The interior cabin width is a comfortable 41″ inches not counting some added elbow room created in the door and wall pocket recesses. The doors are made to hold 32″ LCDs if desired for side views and the added recesses in the doors and next to the panel help serve for storage of items such as a small keyboard and mouse, training checklists and of course..coffee cups!
The CS-1 Stallion is a professional design which can be built by one person in 15 total working days or approximately three weeks time. For the DIY builder the CS-1 is an easy to build wood crafted “stick frame” design which can be easily constructed with basic home tools such as a circular saw and drill (and or miter saw, drill press, etc, which adds to detailed professionalism). The exterior can be covered in fiberboard, ABS plastic, or even real aluminum sheeting if desired. Our detailed builder manual walks you through every single step of the build process and teaches you core carpentry techniques along the way. This is a tried and true design with several hundred happy customers worldwide who love their CS-1.
The DIY plans also include the option for building the modular base frame as shown with caster wheels, as well the easy to remove LCD Bonnet enclosure which can house up to three 32″ LCDs or a large ultra-wide display. And because the optional bonnet is easily removable, The CS-1 can instead use a projection system our front. So it is very flexible in that it gives you the option for either style of visuals.
We also offer a Bare-Bones kit option (depending on season and how busy we are) to help you jump start the process if you are not accustomed to building and don’t have required tools. We understand that some people don’t have the time or skills or patience for a full build. Please contact us if this is of interest to you.

NOTE: In recent years we have seen people around the internet try and make something very similar to the CS-1 by attempting to copy the design from our images. While this is flattering to a point, please know that we greatly urge you to NOT attempt this! Because of our experience in aviation and industrial design, we meticulously engineered the CS-1 to have very realistic ergonomic proportions and we spent several months refining the design for careful ergonomics that give you just the right feel as well dimensions that will best suit a very wide array of flight simulation equipment all while respecting real world aircraft dimensions. It’s a delicate balance that is hard to perfect but we’ve done it. Ergonomics is particularly important because you want to be looking straight out at the horizon and not up like you see in countless other simulators.
From 2010 onward we have sold over 500 plan sets worldwide of the popular CS-1 Stallion with no complaints whatsoever. It’s a great design and our plans are both easy to understand and will allow you to build the simulator in a professional manner. They also include many built in options to explore, all of which are included in the DIY builder manual. If you are ready to take your simulation experience to a higher level of realism, the CS-1 will let your dreams soar.
NOTE* The back wall skin and wall frame is also included in the design or kit purchase. It is only removed in images to showcase interior features.
